Assam teachers removed from service after being declared foreign nationals

The Education Department has dismissed two teachers from Morigaon district after they were declared foreign nationals by the Foreigners’ Tribunal.  

The individuals in question, Abdur Rashid, a science teacher at Ulubari MEM under Lahorighat Education Block, and Khairul Islam, an assistant teacher at Thengshali Khandapukhuri Primary School under Kapili Education Block, had previously faced imprisonment linked to the tribunal’s proceedings.  

Acting on the Tribunal's final verdict, the Education Department issued an official directive on December 24, 2024, terminating their employment.  

A detailed report on the dismissal of Khairul Islam from Thengshali Khandapukhuri Primary School has already been submitted, marking the department's strict adherence to the legal resolution of such cases.
