Authorities have sealed St. Paul High School in Lekhapani, Tinsukia, following unrest sparked by the mysterious death of a Class 10 student at the school’s hostel. The situation escalated to the point where police had to resort to using tear gas to disperse the agitated crowd.
The school's principal, along with students present at Chhatra Basti on the night of the incident, are currently undergoing police interrogation. The deceased student’s body has been transferred to Tinsukia Civil Hospital for a detailed autopsy to uncover the cause of death.
Simultaneously, the Margherita administration has raised concerns about the deplorable conditions of the school's student accommodations, highlighting a broader issue with the institution’s infrastructure.
