Two young men lost their lives in a drowning accident at Wara Ghat on the Tirap River in Jagun on September 19 . Abir Sengupta and Gaurav Roy, both in their prime lost their lives while seeking entertainment along the riverbanks.
The day began as six young men from Bargolai and Lidu of Margherita came together to enjoy a day of leisure at Wara Ghat on the Tirap River in Jagun. However, what was meant to be a day of fun took a tragic turn when Abir and Gaurav ventured into the waters of the river.
Both young men found themselves in the deep waters, struggling to stay afloat. Although their friends tried their luck to save their friends, the two young men could not be revived.
Jagun police team arrived at the scene to assess the situation and gather information. The bodies of Abir Sengupta and Gaurav Roy were transported to Tinsukia Civil Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
Abir Sengupta hailed from Lidu Rod village, while Gaurav Roy was a resident of Bargolai.
