Assam: Violent clash over relief material distribution in Karimganj leaves one seriously injured

A violent altercation erupted over the distribution of relief materials in the Karimganj district, leaving one man seriously injured. 

The victim, Abdul Hakim, suffered severe injuries and was initially taken to Karimganj Hospital. Due to the critical nature of his injuries, he was later transferred to a hospital in Silchar for advanced treatment.

The conflict arose when Abdul Hakim's son discovered that the lentils and oil they were transporting from the Sadar Chakra Adhikari's office for Ward No. 9 of Maizgram GP were missing. The situation escalated when a local resident, Khasrul Haque, questioned the discrepancy.

Tensions boiled over, resulting in a group led by Mustaq attacking Abdul Hakim. The attackers have been identified as Mustaq Uddin, Jubel Ahmed, Fazal Uddin, Sonuhar Ali, Babul Uddin, and Azar Uddin.

A case has been registered at Sadar police station against the accused individuals. The police have launched an investigation into the incident to uncover the details and motivations behind the violent clash.
