Assam: Wild elephant tramples man to death in Tinsukia

In a tragic incident, a wild elephant attack resulted in the death of Sanjeev Das, a local resident of Pengeri Chari Ali. The unfortunate event occurred in the elephant corridor near Dibrujan bridge, an area known for frequent elephant movements.

Sanjeev Das was on his way home, traveling on his motorcycle, when he encountered the wild elephant. Despite the prompt efforts of the locals who rushed him to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries before reaching medical assistance.

The Pengeri Khatangpani regional forest officer and the officer-in-charge of the Pengeri police station promptly arrived at the scene to assess the situation and ensure safety measures for the community. The incident has raised concerns among the residents about their safety in areas frequented by wildlife.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to this tragic event and are likely to implement additional precautions to prevent such incidents in the future.
