In the serene vicinity of Barapeta Nepali Basti, nestled in Assam's Baksa district, tranquility was shattered as two wild elephants ventured out of their habitat in Manash National Park during the night hours of Wednesday. Since their emergence, these majestic creatures have been roaming freely in the forest area adjacent to the national park, evoking apprehension among local residents.
Reports indicate that the elephants emerged from Manash National Park under the cover of darkness, and despite the passage of time, they have not returned to the safety of their habitat, leaving residents uneasy.
The presence of these elephants has instilled fear among the people of Barapeta Nepali Basti, as uncertainty looms over their whereabouts even after sunrise. With the elephants showing no signs of retreat, anxiety persists within the community.
Authorities have been promptly informed about the situation, and concerted efforts are underway to ensure the safety of both the wild elephants and the residents of the area.
