Assam: Youth blank fires at group in city's Sonaighuli area, arrested

In a sensational incident, a youth assaulted and later blank fired at a group in Guwahati's Sonaighuli area on December 27. 

As per preliminary sources, a fight ensued between the accused youth and a group of boys who had reached the accused's place based on a victim's complaints after learning about the youth allegedly threatening her for a long time. 

The accused even attacked the group of boys with an iron rod following which he blank fired.

The victim girl claimed that the youth identified as Kunal Roy had physically assaulted her one year ago and has been threatening her with dire consequences.  After learning about the incident, the girl's group of friends reached the accused's residence today. 

Meanwhile, Udalbakra police reached the spot and managed to arrest the youth.
