Pandit Bageshwar Dham Sarkar, also known as Acharya Dhirendra Krishna Shastri visited the revered Maa Kamakhya Temple in Assam today and made an appeal for unity among Hindus. In a message, he said, "Batenge toh katenge... ek rahenge toh nek rahenge,".
He also hinted at plans to return to the Ambubachi Mela next year for a spiritual gathering.
During his visit, Shastri expressed appreciation for Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, whom he called a “brother” in their shared mission to uphold Sanatan Dharma. Acknowledging Sarma’s efforts, he said, “The Chief Minister has shown unwavering commitment in raising awareness about and protecting Sanatan Dharma in Assam.”
Baba Bageshwar further announced his intention to lead a ‘padyatra’ across the state to promote Sanatan Dharma and to address issues concerning missionary conversions, as well as shifts in population and demographics that he views as threats to traditional beliefs. said, "A Muslim child is well-versed in the Quran, and a Christian child knows the Bible, but Hindu children lack knowledge of the Gita or Ramayana." He stressed that this educational gap leaves the community vulnerable to external influences and conversions.
“This is not the India of 1947, but of 2024,” Shastri said warning that those who speak against Sanatan Dharma will not be overlooked.
