Congress leader Bhupen Borah claimed that if a secret voting process was conducted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam for the position of chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma would receive only receive 11 votes.
Addressing a gathering in Lakhimpur district, the Congress leader said, "Three BJP cabinet ministers have told me if a secret voting takes place between the state BJP MLAs to choose the CM face between Sarbananda Sonowal and Himanta Biswa Sarma then Himanta Biswa Sarma will only get 11 votes."
Further, the Congress leader dared Himanta Biswa Sarma to conduct secret voting to see what his party thinks of the CM's face and claimed that only 11 of them will vote for him who is currently running the syndicate in Assam.
Bhupen Borah also alleged that as per his sources, the newly inducted BJP leaders also voiced out their opinion against veteran BJP leaders Rajen Gohain and Siddhartha Bhattacharya.

Bhupen Borah also claimed that after several Congress leaders left the party to migrate to the saffron party Congress has become clean now.
Earlier today, several senior BJP leaders from Lakhimpur district have joined the Indian National Congress party.
The induction ceremony was held today in the presence of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Bhupen Kumar Borah in Bhogpur.
Three student leaders from the Lakhimpur district as well as 14 senior BJP leaders joined the Congress party after being allegedly fed up with the safforn party.
