In a significant review meeting held in New Delhi to discuss the "Disaster Management Amendment Bill," Congress MP Rakibul Hussain took the opportunity to highlight the ongoing issue of flood erosion in Assam.
Hussain expressed his frustration with the central authorities, accusing them of not fully grasping the severity of the destruction caused by the Brahmaputra River.

He criticized the government's lack of serious consideration for the reality and facts on the ground, arguing that this oversight has exacerbated the crisis.
During the briefing, officials from the Central Disaster Management Department revealed that they had not received any reports from the Assam government concerning the erosion issue.
