Congress will protect the soul of Assam Accord: APCC Chief Bhupen Borah

Assam Congress President Bhupen Kumar Borah recently highlighted the significant impact of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's contributions to Assam, particularly emphasizing the importance of the Assam Accord. 

Borah stated, "...The biggest contribution of Rajiv Gandhi to Assam is Assam Accord. In 1985, Rajiv Gandhi gave the biggest gift to Assam in the form of Assam Accord. People of Assam can never forget this. Today, when the BJP has spoken about implementing CAA everyone is realising the importance of Assam Accord. BJP has conspired to kill Assam Accord - Congress will protect the soul of Assam Accord..."

He further commented on the current political climate, saying, "Today, with the BJP pushing for the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the significance of the Assam Accord is being realized by everyone. The BJP has conspired to undermine the Assam Accord, but the Congress is committed to preserving its essence and protecting its spirit."
