AICC Secretary Prithviraj Sathe held a press conference at the Signet Hotel in Chirang on Friday, where he highlighted concerns over the stalled development in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTC). Sathe criticized the ongoing corruption within the BTC administration, stating that it had severely hindered progress in the region.
"The situation in the BTC has deteriorated due to widespread corruption. Despite having ample resources and opportunities for growth, development has been stifled by the mismanagement and corruption of the current leadership," Sathe said during the press interaction.
The Secretary also addressed the political dynamics within the BTC, pointing out that both the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) and the Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF), the two major political parties in the region, have aligned themselves with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"These alliances have been detrimental to the interests of the local population. The priorities of the BJP and their partners in the BTC are not aligned with the aspirations of the people here. The focus should be on ensuring transparent governance, fostering development, and addressing the needs of the region," Sathe added.
