Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on April 19 met a specially-abled teenager in Bongaigaon and assured him of complete medical help after going through his medical history.
Taking full responsibility of the specially-abled teenager Nabajyoti Das, Sarma made full arrangements for the medical treatment after interacting with his mother. Sarma even did a video call to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital chairman updating the medical history of the teenage boy.
Elated at CM Sarma’s humane gesture, the mother of Nabajyoti Das while speaking to the reporters said, “Sir asked me about his medical condition. I said that currently he is undergoing treatment at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. Check-up has been also done. The treatment should begin full-fledged. My son has been requesting me to get him treated. CM Sarma has assured me that my son will be sent to GMCH within two-three days and direct authorities to begin his treatment. He will also provide a gear wheelchair for my son. I am happy at CM Sarma’s prompt response and taking responsibility of my son. I am very happy and express my gratitude to CM Sir”.
