Assam Congress leader Bhupen Borah lashed out at former Congress youth leader Angkita Dutta for allegedly trying to create a hurdle in Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay yatra in Assam.
Addressing the media, Congress president Bhupen Borah said, "We have expelled Angkita Dutta from the Congress party so after expelling how can she be part of Congress? She tried to align with the BJP to protest against Rahul Gandhi's yatra with the help of police."
Speaking about former Congress leader Bismita Gogoi, Borah said that she was invited to lead the state Congress Mahila unit, however, she refused the offer claiming that she had lost twice by a huge margin.
Further Borah also claimed that he will take advice from his lawyer with regards to the summon notice sent by the Jorhat police with regards to a case registered against him during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
On the INDI bloc, Borah claimed that the understanding is good in Assam, however, if Rahul Gandhi and Mamata Banerjee's equation is not correct then what is the point of having a healthy relationship with TMC leader Ripun Bora in Assam.

On January 18, as Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra made its way into Assam, a significant political drama unfolded.
Angkita Dutta, the daughter of former Assam Congress Minister Anjan Dutta and an expelled member of the party, staged a protest in Sivasagar district’s Amguri town. Her demonstration was aimed at seeking justice after she had been removed from the Congress party following her allegations of harassment against Srinivas BV, the National Youth Congress president, during her tenure as the president of Assam Youth Congress.
In response to these events, Assam Congress chief Bhupen Kumar Borah provided his perspective on the situation. He claimed that Dutta had initially agreed to discuss her allegations with the party high command and seek justice internally.
However, according to Borah, she later succumbed to the influence of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and proceeded to file a formal complaint, which Borah characterized as anti-party activity.
Borah's comments imply that Dutta's protest could be seen as an attempt to disrupt Rahul Gandhi's yatra through Assam, rather than a straightforward pursuit of justice.
