Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on January 25 that India Today NE has uncovered a startling revelation regarding Rahul Gandhi's recent bus journey during the 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' in Assam. According to Sarma, India Today NE suggested that Rahul Gandhi may have been using a "body double" during the journey, raising questions about the authenticity of his presence.
India Today NE had posted on January 22 on the microblogging site X, questioning whether Rahul Gandhi's body double was part of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
During a press conference, Himanta Biswa Sarma warned Rahul Gandhi, saying, "Listen Rahul Gandhi, the way you have insulted Assam, you are going to get fewer seats than 2019 in the Lok Sabha elections in Assam."
Himanta Biswa Sarma raised eyebrows over Rahul Gandhi's visit to the state claiming that the Congress leader neglected significant religious and historical sites. According to Sarma, Rahul Gandhi did not visit the Maa Kamakhya Temple and he could not even wait for 2 hours to visit Batadrava Than. Moreover Sarma questioned Rahul ganhdi's intention of visiting the srine as he was dressed casually in jeans and a T-shirt.Sarma also highlighted that Rahul Gandhi skipped paying respects at the tomb of Lachit Borphukan. During visits to Barpeta and Dhubri, Gandhi allegedly bypassed the renowned Satra in Barpeta and the historic Gurudwara in Dhubri.
The Chief Minister went further to ponder whether Gandhi's actions were part of a larger conspiracy, suggesting a potential link to the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishta ceremony in Ayodhya and raising concerns about the possibility of inciting unrest in Assam.
