Himanta Biswa Sarma: Congress backs Muslims in Gaza but divides Hindus by caste

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched a sharp critique against the Congress party, accusing it of selectively supporting Muslim communities worldwide while allegedly neglecting the plight of Hindus in Bangladesh.

Speaking at a BJP organizational meeting in Ranchi, Sarma condemned Congress for its vocal support for Gaza's Muslim population, contrasting it with its silence on the struggles of Hindus in Bangladesh. “The Congress leadership has been outspoken about the suffering in Gaza, but they have failed to address the dire situation of Hindus in Bangladesh. This shows their selective empathy,” Sarma stated.

Highlighting the gravity of the situation in Bangladesh, Sarma expressed deep concern over the instability in the region. “The situation in Bangladesh is dire and beyond words. I am confident that the central government will handle the issue through diplomatic channels to gradually improve the conditions there,” he said, addressing reporters at Birsa Munda Airport.

Sarma, who is the BJP’s election co-incharge for Jharkhand, also addressed the issue of illegal migration from Bangladesh. He said that the central government has not authorized any crossings and asserted that using diplomatic measures is the only viable solution to ensure safety in Bangladesh.
