Himanta Biswa Sarma: For every Aurangzeb, a Lachit Borphukan is born

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on May 20 stated the resilience and valor of the Indian spirit, drawing parallels between historical figures and contemporary leaders. Speaking at a public event, Sarma invoked the legacies of figures like Aurangzeb and Lachit Barphukan to highligt the indomitable nature of the Indian ethos.

"Many people will come and go...But, this is the land where we are born... Whether I be the Chief Minister or not, no difference will be there... but my land should be Vishwaguru," said Sarma.

Reflecting on historical figures, Sarma remarked, "In our country, Aurangzeb was also born... but what happened... he is known not for good reasons."

Sarma went on to call upon West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, urging her to reconsider her alliances and prioritize the welfare of the nation. "I request West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee... you have time till 2 years after theLok Sabha elections... leave people like Shahjahan Sheikh... people of the country will not be afraid of people like him," he said.

The Chief Minister drew parallels between historical stalwarts and contemporary leaders, asserting, "If Bharat Mata has given birth to people like Shahjahan Sheikh... Bharat Mata has also given birth to people like Narendra Modi and Amit Shah to fight against people like Shahjahan Sheikh."
