Himanta Biswa Sarma thanks people of Jharkhand for 'great result' in LS polls

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extended gratitude to the people of Jharkhand on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for their votes, stating that the people helped the party achieve a great result. 
 

Stating that the people of Jharkhand helped Prime Minister Modi form his government for the third consecutive term as the party won 9 seats in the state, the Assam chief minister asserted that the citizens have given the party enough.
 

Furthermore, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that 41 seats are required in order to emerge victorious in the Vidhan Sabha elections, however, the people of Jharkhand have given the BJP 52 seats. He further stated that the people will vote and give the party 70 seats in future.  
 

He also stated that a comparison cannot be drawn between the Vidhan Sabha elections and the Lok Sabha elections, stating that the party has got a promotion of 52 seats over the years.
 

Himanta Biswa Sarma arrived in Jharkhand, on June 23 to review the BJP’s performance in the LS polls and strategise for the assembly elections in the state later this year, according to party officials. 
 

The Assam CM’s visit to the state comes a few days after he was appointed as the co-in-charge of the Jharkhand Bharatiya Janata Party in the run-up to the upcoming state assembly elections. 
 

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan who was inducted as the in-charge of the state BJP for the upcoming polls, is also in Ranchi to prepare strategies for the upcoming polls.
