Hussainabad to become district if BJP comes to power, will be named after Lord Ram or Krishna: Assam CM

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Wednesday that the BJP would elevate the Hussainabad sub-division in Palamu district to district status if the party secures victory in the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections. Sarma stated that the newly created district would be named in honor of a revered Hindu deity, either Lord Ram or Lord Krishna, as a tribute to the cultural heritage.

Sarma, who is serving as the co-in-charge of the BJP's election campaign in Jharkhand, declared that the district status for Hussainabad would be officially granted during the first cabinet meeting of the newly elected government. He emphasized that the BJP's commitment to transforming the sub-division into a district would be among the party's initial steps upon assuming power.

Addressing an enthusiastic crowd at an election rally at Karpoori ground in Japla, Sarma also highlighted the BJP's stance on addressing issues related to illegal immigration, stating that expelling infiltrators from Jharkhand would be a top priority for the party.

The rally was part of the campaign effort to support Kamlesh Singh, the BJP candidate for the Hussainabad assembly constituency. Singh recently joined the BJP after serving as Jharkhand's sole Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) legislator until October 4.
