Japan downgrades Assam’s travel advisory to Level-I: Himanta Biswa Sarma

The Japanese government has downgraded the state's travel advisory caution level to Level I, signaling improved security and stability.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced this development during a press conference following today’s Cabinet meeting.

The Japanese Embassy, explaining the decision, stated: "In Assam, militant activities have subsided in most areas except for four northeastern districts—Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, and Charaideo. Due to the improved risk level scenario, the risk level has been downgraded from Level-2 to Level-1."
