Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in her address at IIT Guwahati, expressed her joy over a significant historical moment for the Northeast, especially Assam.
She highlighted that while numerous countries desire a share in the semiconductor value chain, Assam has achieved it. Sitharaman referred to this development as a big historical moment, marking a milestone for the Northeast region of India.
"What came yesterday in the Northeast? It is actually a big historical moment for the Northeast and in particular for Assam....There are countries which long to have a part of the semiconductor value chain in their country, but Assam got it...", said Sitharaman in her address.
The Union Finance Minister addressed the gathering at IIT-Guwahati at the Viksit Bharat Ambassador Campus dialogue held today.
State minister Ajanta Neog, Rajeev Ahuja, director of IIT-Guwahati were also present during the event
