"No one will escape": Minister Piyush Hazarika vows strict action in online trading fraud case

Assam Minister Piyush Hazarika on September 12 said that the government will not let any individual involved in fraudulent online trading activities evade justice.

Addressing the arrests of Sumi Bora and Tarkik Bora, who have been implicated in a major trading controversy, Hazarika emphasized the government’s unrelenting stance on bringing all offenders to book. He assured that the law would "tighten the system" and act decisively on the matter.

"The BJP government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has taken a stringent approach to crack down on online trading scams. All individuals involved in such fraudulent activities will be arrested. No one can escape the reach of the police," Hazarika asserted during the event.

The minister further revealed that 90% of those involved in the fraudulent scheme have already been apprehended. He also criticized the Congress for making baseless claims regarding the accused fleeing to Nepal, condemning such remarks as irresponsible.

When questioned about Sumi Bora’s potential role as a witness for authorities, Hazarika refrained from commenting, stating he had no knowledge of such developments.

However, he reiterated the government's firm commitment to ensuring that no individual involved in deceitful trading practices would escape prosecution.
