PM Modi undertook several welfare steps for security forces deployed along border areas: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah who is on a two-day official visit to Assam, engaged in several developmental programmes and launching events. Amit Shah said that the government under the leadership of PM Modi has undertaken several welfare steps in the past nine years for the welfare of all CAPFs, CRPF and other organisations deployed along border areas.

Speaking at the 60th Raising Day Ceremony of Sashastra Seema Bal in Tezpur, Assam, Amit Shah said, "Union Home Minister Amit Shah says "In the last 9 years, PM Modi has taken several steps for the welfare of all the CAPFs, be it CRPF or all the other organizations deployed on the border. Today, the Government of India also released a postal stamp. It will keep everyone's devotion to duty alive in front of the people of the country forever".

Recollecting on how during former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the police of 'One Border One Force' was implemented, Shah further added, "After the India-China war, SSB was established in 1963 and after Atal ji implemented the policy of 'One Border One Force', SSB has been dutifully protecting the India-Nepal border since 2001 and the India-Bhutan border since 2004..."

Today marks the 60th Raising Day of Sashastra Seema Bal. Over the past six decades, the men and women of the SSB have dedicated themselves to maintaining the integrity and security of India's frontiers. Their vigilance has been instrumental in preventing illegal cross-border activities, including smuggling and unauthorized entry, thereby contributing to the nation's overall stability and peace.

The SSB's commitment extends beyond mere border patrol; they are also involved in fostering goodwill and cooperation with the border populations. Their efforts in community engagement and social welfare initiatives have helped in building a strong rapport with the local residents, which is crucial for effective border management.
