A Congress delegation led by Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi was stopped by police on their way to Sambhal, prompting sharp criticism from party leaders. Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi condemned the action, accusing the BJP government of undermining peace and harmony.
“We strongly condemn the police administration’s decision to block Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi from reaching Sambhal,” Gogoi stated. "We raised this issue in the House and the INDIA alliance staged a walkout against this reprehensible move."
Gogoi emphasized the Congress party's commitment to maintaining peace and tranquillity in Sambhal, asserting their readiness to cooperate with all efforts aimed at restoring normalcy.
Drawing parallels with the violence in Manipur, Gogoi accused the BJP of deliberately instigating conflicts across different regions of the country. “Just as they created turmoil in Manipur, the BJP seems intent on spreading discord elsewhere. They stand against the peace and harmony of this nation,” he alleged.
