RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat: Preservation of indigenous beliefs is the need of the hour

Speaking on the topic of indigenous faith, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said that preservation of indigenous beliefs is the need of the hour.

Addressing the 8th Triennial International Conference held at Shiksha Valley School in Dibrugarh, the RSS chief underlined the importance of preserving indigenous belief systems, citing the erosion of cultural heritage and the profound knowledge embedded within them.

Bhagwat discussed the challenges faced by these communities, particularly in the context of missionary activities and conversions.
The RSS chief drew inspiration from historical figures like Birsa Munda and Mahatma Gandhi, who championed the preservation of indigenous faith and culture. Bhagwat commended the efforts of the Indigenous and Tribal Faith and Culture Department in Assam, highlighting their initiatives to minimize external influences and support indigenous communities.

Mohan Bhagwat stated the urgent need to preserve ancient traditions amidst the challenges faced by contemporary society.
Bhagwat expressed concern about the persistent issues plaguing humanity despite material progress. He highlighted the ongoing wars, lack of peace, and inner conflicts that continue to trouble societies worldwide. Bhagwat urged for a collective effort to overcome narrow-mindedness, religious egos, and community conflicts that hinder global progress.

Speaking on environmental crisis, Bhagwat stressed the importance of addressing extensive behaviors leading to the edge of destruction. He urged for practical actions rather than mere discussions, emphasizing the interconnectedness of humanity with nature.
Bhagwat commended the International Conference for its commitment to revitalizing ancient traditions and fostering global collaboration. He urged participants to rededicate themselves to the preservation of indigenous faith and culture stating the shared responsibility of the majority community.
