Sribhumi shocker: Attempted assault on woman in moving bus sparks outrage

Sribhumi witnessed a shocking incident reminiscent of Delhi’s past horrors, as a young woman was allegedly subjected to an attempted sexual assault inside a moving bus.

The incident triggered massive outrage, with members of the Hindu Raksha Dal blocking roads at the city’s AOC Point in protest.

According to reports, the victim had visited the Badarpur Circle Officer’s office to obtain an income certificate.

In the evening, she boarded an ATSC-operated bus to return home, only to find just two passengers inside.

Sensing danger, she attempted to get off, but the bus doors were shut, and the perpetrators tried to assault her. She eventually lost consciousness and was later abandoned near Sargola.

Sribhumi SP Partha Pratim Das, speaking to India Today NE, confirmed that authorities are leaving no stone unturned in their investigation into the alleged sexual assault in Sribhumi.

"We are analyzing all angles to uncover the truth," he stated, emphasizing that the matter is being taken with the utmost seriousness.

The protestors have demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits within 24 hours, warning of a larger agitation if justice is delayed.
