Woman stabbed to death by son in Assam's Bongaigaon, probe underway

A domestic altercation in Bongaigaon town turned fatal ahead of Durga Puja festivities, after a woman was stabbed to death by her son on October 8.

The tragedy occurred at Bongaigaon's Shaheed Bedi, where 45-year-old Maneka Sutradhar was allegedly stabbed to death by her son following a heated argument.

Initial reports suggest, a domestic dispute between the woman and her son escalated. Later in the heat of the argument, the son stabbed his mother to death and fled from the crime scene.

Local law enforcement from Bongaigaon Sadar Police Station arrived at the crime scene and begun their investigations. 

The police are working to trace his whereabouts of the absconding son and piece together the tragic sequence that led to the murder.
