Manipur Police have arrested three members of Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) (Angamba group) in case of extortion in the capital city of Imphal.
Imphal West Police have arrested the three including Kangleipak Communist Party's Finance Secretary for engaged in extortion of Rs. one crore each from the banks operating in Imphal city.

According to Imphal West Superintendent of Police (SP), the City Police had received an information about one unlawful valley-based underground organization Kangleipak Communist Party (Angamba Group) under the command of one Pari Meitei.
The information revealed that the group led by Meitei, the three had demanded Rs. one crore each from the Chairman/General Manager of some Banks in Paona Bazar and Thangal Bazar area.

According to reports, the three had given an ultimatum to the banks to deposit the said amount to the organization on or before 25/2/2020 after contacting through the provided mobile number.
The three had also warned of serious consequences if the demands were not complied with. Subsequently, the Police registered a case at the City Police Station.
