Mizo rap pioneer RD-I dies of cancer at 34

AIZAWL: Popular Mizo rapper RD-I finally lost her battle against cancer on Thursday Night. She breathed her last at 10:20 pm at the young age of 34 at the Synod Hospital in Aizawl.

Born Vanrodinpuii, RD-I is survived by 2 children -- a boy and a girl. Known for her popular songs like Ladylicious, Daddy, and Bold, she is one of the very first female rappers in the Mizo music industry, and one of the few female rappers from the Northeast Indian region.

RD-I's death has cast a pall of gloom in Mizoram, and her fans have taken to social media to pour out their tributes to the deceased musician.
