Industrialists Anand Mahindra and Venu Srinivasan have been selected for the country’s third highest civilian awards, Padma Bhushan to honor their contribution to trade and industry.
The Government announced the names of the recipients on the occasion of 71st Republic Day. The Mahindra Group Chairman has played a major role in diversifying the Mahindra group. He had taken over as the Deputy Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. in 1991. He became the Chairman in 2012.

TVS Motor Company Chairman Venu Srinivasan, an Engineer, began his career as a mechanic in his own garage during vacations. In 1979 he took over as the CEO of Sundaram-Clayton. The same year TVS Motor Company was born, and he later became the Chairman of India’s third largest two-wheeler manufacturing unit.
It may be mentioned here that the Chennai-based two-wheeler maker, TVS Motor Company has launched the iQube, an electric scooter, to further move ahead in the auto market.

The electric scooter is presently launched in Bengaluru across 10 dealerships. Venu Srinivasan said the iQube has been developed completely in-house by TVS. According to him, it is the most connected electricity vehicle on Indian roads. Srinivasan has called iQube as a blend of an advanced electric drivetrain and the next-gen TVS SmartXonnect platform.
