Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while reacting on Supreme Court granting interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that Kejriwal shouldn't have been brought of the jail.
"Any person who has a little bit of self-respect would not have come out of jail on such kind of bail. He should have told the Supreme Court that I don't want such a bail but Kejriwal has no shame left", said CM Sarma while speaking to the reporters during a poll rally in Bihar's Begusarai.
Meanwhile, Kejriwal visited the Hanuman Temple at Connaught Place in Delhi today, a day after being granted bail by the apex court.
Kejriwal was in Tihar Jail for over 50 days following his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in an excise policy case on March 21. His bail is valid until June 1, after which he must surrender to authorities on June 2.
While he can engage in election campaigning, he is not allowed to attend his office as Chief Minister. His wife, Sunita Kejriwal, hailed his bail as a victory for democracy. Opposition parties across the country, part of the INDIA bloc, have welcomed the Supreme Court's decision.
