Gan Suraksha Party (GSP) candidate, Toko Sheetal, has embarked on a vigorous tour of over 11 districts in Arunachal West constituency.
Thousands of underprivileged men and women in Daporijo town, the headquarters of Upper Subansiri district, have been voluntarily welcoming and supporting Sheetal, who led the anti-corruption 'Delhi chalo' movement on foot in September 2022. Sheetal has now entered the electoral race for the Arunachal West parliamentary seat, challenging the current MP, Kiren Rijiju.
She filed her nomination today under the GSP banner in Aalo, West Siang district. Sheetal's candidacy follows her prominent activism, which includes leading a foot march from Itanagar to New Delhi under the Arunachal Against Corruption (AAC) banner and staging a protest at Jantar Mantar, which had a significant impact on Arunachal politics in September 2022.
After filing her nomination, Sheetal expressed confidence in her victory, stating that the people of Arunachal support her candidacy and that she will emerge as the winner.
