BJP MLA Diganta Kalita: Congress leaders cannot respect mothers, daughters

BJP MLA Diganta Kalita launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing its leaders of failing to uphold the dignity of women. Kalita's remarks came amidst a charged political atmosphere, with elections looming on the horizon. 

Kalita says, "Congress leaders cannot respect mothers, daughters. What did PM Modi say? 'Beti bachao beti padhao' and today it is the reality…”

He pointed out the difference between the Congress' actions and Prime Minister Modi's slogan, 'Beti bachao beti padhao' (Save daughters, educate daughters), suggesting the Congress falls short in supporting women's welfare.

Kalita also compared the Congress party to an old Rs 500 note, implying it's losing relevance. He warned that if things don't change, the party might not even have enough members to compete in Panchayat elections.

“Congress has become an old note like Rs 500...Gradually, the party won't be left by any cadres to even fight at the level of Panchayat election...", commented Kalita.
