Himanta Biswa Sarma bats for PM Modi in Punjab, says neither AAP nor Congress can provide good leadership

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Punjab must give Prime Minister Narendra Modi a chance, asserting that North and West India have already given 100 per cent seats to the BJP leader.

He also said that people from East India are also in the mood to give PM Modi a chance.

Addressing a public meeting in Patiala, Punjab, the Assam chief minister said that Modi’s candidature seems good in Punjab. He said, “North India and West India have already given their 100 per cent seats to PM Modi. This time East India is also in the mood to give all its seats to him. I think things are good for us in Punjab as well.”

The Lok Sabha elections in Punjab, which has 13 Lok Sabha constituencies, will be held in a single phase on June 1, 2024.

Asserting that PM Modi can provide good leadership to Punjab, the Assam CM said that neither Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) or Congress can do the same. He added, “Understand that neither AAP nor Congress, and neither Bhagwant Mann nor Rahul Gandhi can give good leadership to Punjab. If given the chance, PM Modi can lead Punjab towards development just like he is leading the country."

“Prime Minister Modi gets emotional when he talks about Punjab. Today, the PM visited Gurdwara Patna Sahib in Bihar and served langar. He is emotionally attached to Punjab”, Himanta said, further asking the people of Punjab to give PM Modi a chance.
