Nusrat Jahan dismisses questions about her baby's father

KOLKATA: Actor turned politician TMC MP Nusrat Jahan made her first public appearance on Wednesday after she welcomed a baby boy last month.

While attending an event in Kolkata when she was asked about the father of the baby boy she sharply replied "father knows who the father is."

She further said “I think that’s a vague question to ask and puts a black spot on somebody’s character as a woman, who the father is. The father knows who the father is and we are having great parenthood together at the moment. Myself and Yash, we are having a good time.”

She also mentions that motherhood ‘feels great. “It’s a new life, it feels like a new beginning,” and also reveals that her son was named Yishaan.

When asked when can one get the first glimpse of the baby boy, Nusrat said, “You should ask his father that. He is not letting anyone see him at the moment.”

Nusrat Jahan was married to Nikhil Jain, a businessman in a private wedding on June 19, 2019, in Turkey. In 2021 the couple got separated as Nusrat said that their marriage was not valid under Indian law.

In an interview with a web portal, Nusrat’s estranged husband Nikhil Jain has also reacted to the good news.

Nusrat was admitted to Neotia hospital in Kolkata on 25th August. Bengali actor Yash Dasgupta, the rumoured father of the baby boy, drove Nusrat to the Hospital and on 26th August gave birth to a baby boy.
