At least three people were killed and 11 others were hurt when a four-story building in Naik Nagar, Kurla East, Mumbai, collapsed on Monday. For rescue and relief operations, Teams of Mumbai Fire Brigade and NDRF are at the spot with seven trucks, two rescue vans, and ambulances.
According to the fire brigade operation view, there could be nearly 20 people trapped under the debris. The injured were taken to Ghatkopar and Sion civic hospitals, and a search effort is still being conducted to find any further survivors. Two men, aged 28 and 30, among those brought to the Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar, were declared dead on arrival
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had been issuing notices for four dilapidated buildings and they were given notices to vacate for five to six years the residents got the structural audit redone and got the building categorized as repairable, but didn't carry out the repair. the residents had even given an undertaking that they would stay there at their risk and cost.
