A Japan Airlines flight, JAL 516, caught fire as it landed in Tokyo's Haneda airport on Tuesday.
A spokesperson at Japan Airlines said the aircraft was carrying more than 300 passengers.
A footage on Japanese broadcaster, NHK, showed flames coming out of the windows of the aircraft. Japanese news broadcasters citing authorities said that the plane might have collided with another aircraft after landing at the Haneda airport.
According to Japanese media, the flight took off from Hokkaido.
Later, video showed fire crews working to put out the fire. It wasn’t immediately clear what had happened or if there were injuries.
