Guwahati, April 18, 2019:

Around 46.4 percent voters exercised their franchise till 1 PM on Thursday in the second phase of Lok Sabha Elections in the five parliamentary constituencies of Assam. The five Constituencies which are headed to the polls are: Silchar, Karimganj, Nowgong, Mangaldoi, and Autonomous Council.

According to date released by the Election Council, the percentage of polling recorded in the five Constituencies is as follows:

Karimganj: 46.87 percent

Silchar: 44.13 percent

Autonomous District: 49.9 percent

Mangaldoi: 50.97 percent

Nowgong: 41.52 percent.

Polling is being held from 7 AM to 5 PM in the five seats In Assam. As many as 50 candidates are in the fray for the second phase of Lok Sabha Elections in the five parliamentary constituencies in Assam. Polls have been going on relatively peacefully all across the state.

Meanwhile, Inner Manipur Constituency has recorded a voter turnout of 56%.
