As tension continued to mount over the passage of the controversial Manipur People’s Protection Bill, 2018, by the Manipur Legislative Assembly, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) along with the police conducted a flag march in Jiribam district to instil a sense of security and inspire confidence among the people.
The flag march was conducted in the wake of the recent protests by members of the minority communities against the Bill and post a meeting held at Jiribam superintendent of police office.
The meeting reviewed the law and order situation in the area, besides discussing deployment of CRPF and other state forces in the area.
According to the police, the flag march was conducted as a part of confidence building measures in the area and instil a sense of security among general public.
