Kuki Inpi Manipur calls 24-hr shutdown

Imphal (Manipur), Aug 6 2018:

The Kuki Inpi Manipur has called a 24-hour total shutdown in all Kuki-inhabited areas of Manipur from midnight of 8^th to midnight 9^th August.

Stating that the Kukis were not only dominated and marginalised, but even their identity was now being targeted for total annihilation.

In a statement, the organisation further said that any settlement with the Nagas without recognising Kuki “identity, territory and political right for self-governance” could never solve the political problem of Manipur.

The Kuki Inpi Manipur asked the Government of India to evolve a settlement broadly acceptable to all and taking into consideration the interest of all the stakeholders.
