IMPHAL: The Manipur state government employees, including Manipur Secretariat's, are on indefinite strike since August 17 demanding the implementation of the 7th Central Pay Commission by the government.
"Despite a number of MoUs had been signed; none of it got translated into reality till date. to continuously pouring oil in the fire," reads a part of the statement released by the Manipur Secretariat Services Association.

The strike was launched jointly by Manipur Government Services’ Federation including Nurses, Medical doctors and Engineers.
"The State Govt. running without the administrative skill and responsibility at this juncture is highly condemnable by the whole mass of working people, employees and teachers which is very unproductive and becoming a bad precedent," the statement added further.
Meanwhile, Manipur Congress, prime opposition of Manipur Legislative Assembly, Spokesman Ningombam Bupenda Meitei took to Twitter and wrote, "I demand effective implementation of 7th Central Pay Commission in toto in Manipur for the Manipur state government employees and pensioners immediately for the continuation of efficiently good governance in the state for quality development."
