‘Eigi Nupi Tamnalai’ sweeps top honors clinching best feature film award at 15th Manipur State Film Awards 2023

Result for 15th Manipur State Film award 2023 was declared on November 14 at office of Manipur State Film Development Society Manipur. 

The prestigious MSFDS Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed upon Moirangthem Nilamani Singh, recognizing his remarkable contributions to Manipuri cinema.

Acknowledging excellence in film critique, Rajmani Ayekpam received the Best Film Critic award, underlining the importance of insightful analysis in the industry.

The film "Eigi Nupi Tamnalai" directed by Ningthoujam Ojitbabu claimed multiple honors, including Best Feature Film, Best Direction for Ningthoujam Ojitbabu, and Best Art Direction for KS Awangshi.

Outstanding Performances Recognized:
•    Best Actor (Male): Kshetrimayum Daya for "Samadon"
•    Best Actor (Female): Ithoi Oinam for "Tharoi Ahambagi Mahao"
•    Best Supporting Actor (Male): Diya Khwairakpam for "Akangba Nachom"
•    Best Supporting Actor (Female): Melory Wahengbam for "Khullaksha"

The technical categories saw deserving winners, with awards for cinematography, editing, special effects, makeup, costume design, choreography, and music direction.

"Samadon" and Angel Shimrah "Inaocha Khundrakpam," the director of "Samadon," received a Special Jury Award. Additionally, Angel Shimrah earned a Special Jury Mention for her role in the film "Ngavei."

 In the non-feature film category, "Iron Women of Manipur" directed by Haobam Paban Kumar secured the Best Film in Sports/Issues, while "Eewai" directed by Bishwamittra Khwairakpam earned accolades in multiple categories, including Best Short Film and Best Direction.

The Manipur State Film Awards 2023 showcased the richness of Manipuri cinema, celebrating talent across various genres and categories.
