Manipur: Bodies of 13 people killed during firing incident in Tengnoupal brought to JNIMS

At least 13 people who have been killed in an alleged ambush by suspected Kuki militants was brought to Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences for post mortem on December 4.

The alleged ambush was carried in a wooded area near Leithao Village in Tengnoupal District under Machi Police Station yesterday morning as per source.

The dead bodies were brought to JNIMS at mid night for post mortem. 

For the unversed, a fresh incident of firing was reported in Tengnoupal district in the early hours of December 4 following which an operation was led by Assam Rifles after receiving intelligence inputs. 

At least 13 bodies were recovered from the Leithu area of Tengnoupal district of Manipiur, stated to be an area dominated by Kukis.

It may be mentioned that there is no recovery of weapons from ambush site
