Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh today said that the government is in an advanced stage of talks with a Valley based proscribed outfit and is likely to sign a peace accord soon.
Without taking the name of the militant outfit, the Manipur Chief Minister told mediapersons in Imphal today that talks are going on in an advanced stage and a peace deal is likely to be signed soon in this regard.
"Yes, just that we are advancing (in talks). And we are expecting to sign a peace accord with one big UG (underground group) very soon." said CM N Biren Singh.
Noteworthy here is that earlier too Chief Minister N Biren Singh had confirmed that talks were going on between the government and a valley based armed group. Biren Singh has constantly refrained from naming the militant outfit in question, but sources have hinted that the outfit is a prominent one.
