Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh slammed the opposition, specifically the INDIA group led by Congress, for what he described as "playing petty politics" during budgetary discussions. Singh emphasized that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had clarified that Manipur is receiving adequate funding from the Central government.
Addressing remarks made by TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee about the situation in Manipur, Singh questioned Banerjee's knowledge of the state's issues and urged him to focus on his own constituency in Bengal, where he alleged that women have been subjected to violence for the past decade. Singh asserted that peace is being restored in Manipur and accused the opposition of attempting to instigate unrest.
"The opposition should not use Manipur's situation for political gains," Singh said, underscoring the need for unity and cooperation in efforts to maintain peace in the state.
