Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on June 7 paid floral tributes to the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel who was killed during a gun battle at Serou under Kakching district on June 6.
A joint operation by the BSF and Assam Rifles personnel were carried out in the violence hit areas of Sugnu and Serou area as intermittent firing continued between insurgent groups and security forces.
A BSF personnel was killed while two Assam Rifles personnel suffered fatal gun shot wounds during the operation.
The injured were air evacuated to Mantripukhri.
The floral tribute ceremony was also attended by security adviser Kuldeep Singh and other high ranking officials of BSF.
