Manipur: CRPF honours fallen soldiers on Police Commemoration Day

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) held a ceremony in Imphal to mark Police Commemoration Day on October 21. The event, organised by the Group Centre in Langjing, paid tribute to 10 brave CRPF personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.

At the heart of the commemoration was a poignant remembrance of the 3rd Battalion members who perished in an ambush by Chinese forces at Hot Spring, Ladakh, while patrolling the Indo-China border. This incident highlighted the ongoing tensions and dangers faced by security forces in the region.

High-ranking officials, including Dr Vipul Kumar, IGP of the M&N Sector, and Anil Kumar Bhardwaj, DIGP of GC CRPF Imphal, led the proceedings. The day's events included wreath-laying ceremonies and speeches honouring the sacrifices made by the fallen officers.

In a moving gesture, the names of all CRPF personnel who died in service over the past year were read aloud, underscoring the human cost of maintaining national security. Family members of the deceased were also present, receiving recognition for their loved ones' ultimate sacrifice.

The CRPF used the occasion to reaffirm its dedication to safeguarding the nation, emphasising the force's unwavering commitment in the face of ongoing challenges.
