A massive rally was held at Hatta in Imphal East district as thousands of men, women, and children gathered to protest against the WAQF (Amendment) Act 2025, which they claim has deeply hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community.
Chanting powerful slogans such as “Down Down BJP Government,” “Repeal WAQF Amendment Act,” and “Down Down India Government,” the demonstrators expressed unwavering opposition to the controversial legislation.
A protester declared, “We will not stop until the Act is repealed. This law has wounded our community’s identity, and we are ready to make any sacrifice if our demand is not met.”
The protest marked yet another wave of resistance, highlighting the growing unrest among the Muslim population over what they perceive as an unjust and discriminatory move by the government.
