The last rite of 13 people killed at Leithao Village in Tengnoupal district by suspected Kuki militants was performed at Torongthel in Andro constituency under Imphal East district.
The mass cremation was held in the wee hours of this morning at around 3.30 am.
The mortal remains of 13 people were brought to a mass cremation site after post-mortem from Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) at around 6.30 pm yesterday.

Massive processions took place carrying the mortal remains. Andro is just around 30 km from Imphal.
But it took more hours to reach the place as Many people had waited at the road site to give floral tribute to the departed soul. As such the procession reached at burial site at around 2.30 am
Upon reaching the venue, people who gathered at the cremation site received the dead bodies with great honour. After giving fitting tribute, dead bodies were buried at around 3.30 am.
