Manipur's Meira Paibis organized human chain protests in various areas of Imphal West today demanding not to arrest Arambai Tengol leader and other village volunteers.
The demonstrations were held with torches as protesters voiced their strong opposition to the government's actions, particularly the case filed against Khuman by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The protesters condemned the move, asserting that Arambai Tengol is not a militant group and that neither its members nor village volunteers should face arrest. They emphasized that Khuman, along with other village volunteers, should not face any legal action.
Demonstrators further declared that Arambai Tengol plays a crucial role in defending the Meitei community from Kuki aggression, and vowed that the women of Meitei will stand in support of Khuman and all village volunteers.
